Zinc Plated High Tensile Grade 8 Cup Head Bolts have a domed head with a square section underneath the head.  This square section gets embedded into the timber which holds the bolt as the nut is being tightened.  The domed head gives a rounded / smooth surface on the head end of this fastener.  The high tensile cup heads are used for superior strength and wear resistance.
